At last! A plein air set up that really works!! There are a gazillion plein air easels on the market, (and I've tried most of them) but this is the ONLY one that doesn't require any "tweeking" to accomodate watercolor. All my students have this easel and I recommend it for my workshops too!

The Outdoor Painters Society was formed in 1996. The idea was to create opportunities and incentive for artists of like mind to come together and paint en plein air.
Women Artists of the West (WAOW) is a group whose specific objectives and purpose include uniting women artists; promoting appreciation of art created by women; encouraging technical excellence by educating artists and the public through exhibitions and workshops; encouraging professionalism by advising women artists regarding business practices; providing publicity and national awareness for members through advertising and web presence; and developing a spirit of unity among its members. Women Artists of the West (WAOW) is a unique and respected organization of approximately 200 professional women artists.
Website of Artists of Texas organization
Professional Artists in North Texas. A group of passionately committed artists who make a weekly practice of painting out of doors. Their subjects are primarily landscapes and botanical settings, though they are skilled in still life and figurative works as well. The group includes oil and acrylic painters, water colorists, and graphite artists, all en plein air (the French expression for "in the open air"). The artists reside in communities throughout North Texas, many are represented nationally in shows and galleries, and have ties to universities and professional organizations throughout the country.
After many years of painting together informally, the artists came together as a formal group in early 2010 and organized PAINT to help better display and market their work. Building on a number of initial successes with exhibitions in places like Fort Worth, Keller and Grapevine, the group is now expanding its activities with a newly established website and a series of new exhibits.
Woven into this group of international artists, is a deep and varied pool of unique and extraordinary talents, who seek real and valuable change in the world around them. CFAI works with Artists Gifting the World. A small portion of the funds raised through membership fees and events will directly benefit a rotating list of global charities, and through the energy and creativity of the membership, CFAI will work toward making a visible and lasting difference.
