"Arrangement In Yellow" -  6x10 watercolor on 300# Arches cold press paper - is from an OPS paint out  in downtown Grapevine, Texas on January 28.  It was a tad chilly during the morning hours so most of us painted inside a restored train depot.   Several still life set-ups were scattered around the room and I chose to paint this one.  I'm not a "flower person" so I have no clue what kind of flowers they were....I only know they had big yellow blooms &  I liked the clear glass vase with the "water line" and stems visable.  I don't paint many still lifes, with my subject matter preference being landscapes, but when I do, I usually "abstract" the shapes..... leaving the type of flower a "mystery"....and let my composition, color and values tell the story.
